The regional media platform VirusOFF has been named the official media partner of the 25th International AIDS Conference 2024, which will take place in Munich from July 22 to 26.
“Being a media partner for a conference of such scale as AIDS 2024 is a significant milestone for VirusOFF. It recognizes our efforts and our contribution to supporting communities affected by HIV in the EECA region. We are very excited about this opportunity and confident that through AIDS 2024, we will make the voices of Eastern Europe and Central Asia heard,” said Armen Agajanov, manager of the organization and regional media outlet “Virus Off.”
According to Agajanov, the VirusOFF team is preparing a range of engaging materials for its audience, including articles, interviews, and video stories. “All our content will be about our region and its representatives. We will publish it under the slogan #PutPeopleFirstEECA, as part of the regional campaign, since the main theme at AIDS 2024 will be EECA. And of course, we will cover everything happening at the ‘EECA Space,’ organized by regional networks and organizations,” added Armen Agajanov.
To better serve readers, VirusOFF has launched a dedicated website focusing exclusively on materials about the Eastern Europe and Central Asia region in the run-up to and during the AIDS 2024 conference. The VirusOFF platform was created by an initiative group of activists in 2019. The organization was founded with the support of ViiV Healthcare and UNAIDS EECA and officially registered as an NGO and online media platform in accordance with Ukrainian law in June 2020, as part of a project funded by ViiV Healthcare. Since 2022, VirusOFF has not only been covering the situation related to the war in Ukraine but also directly assisting community members, with over 1,800 Ukrainians from key populations benefiting from its support.
This year, VirusOFF has planned a relaunch, meaning that readers can expect even more interesting materials about developments and progress in the EECA region.
