The Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA) region is facing significant hurdles in its quest to end AIDS by 2030. Restrictive laws, criminalization, stigma, discrimination, and gender inequality are just some of the barriers hindering access to healthcare. The political pushback, anti-rights trends, and the devastating impact of russia’s war in Ukraine have only worsened these challenges, creating what feels like a new “Berlin Wall” of obstacles.

To tackle these and other pressing issues head-on, key regional networks and organizations are uniting at the EECA Region Space in the AIDS 2024 Global Village. This is more than just a series of discussions—it’s a call to action for coordinated efforts with international, regional, and national partners.
From July 22-25, the EECA Region Space will host a range of sessions designed to share best practices, successes, and challenges in the fight against AIDS. For those not participating in AIDS2024 – there will be possibility to join online (see schedule).
