Walls are not the answer! #PutPeopleFirst!
The Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA) region is falling behind in the fight to end AIDS by 2030. Restrictive laws, criminalization, stigma, discrimination, and gender inequality create barriers to healthcare access. Political resistance, anti-rights trends, shrinking civil space, and Russia’s war in Ukraine have worsened the situation, building a new “Berlin Wall” of challenges.
In response, key regional networks, CSOs, and national community leaders are uniting to showcase best practices, share successes and challenges, and urge coordinated actions with international, regional, and national partners to effectively respond to the new challenges.
Global leaders and activists from the region join IAS to urge #PutPeopleFirstEECA!
